This artwork was created using acrylic paint on a 30 inch canvas. It reflects my emotions and memories through the interplay of color and form. Each brushstroke conveys a personal narrative, inviting viewers to engage with their own experiences. My intention is to create a visual dialogue that resonates on an emotional level, encouraging contemplation and connection.
This piece draws inspiration from my childhood memories and the narratives that influenced my creativity. Growing up in a middle-class family in a small, bustling neighborhood in the early 90s, my brother and I often played outside with other children. During that time, video games were scarce, and our playtime revolved around bicycles, toys, and outdoor games. We focused on crafting our own toy cars from recycled materials such as milk tins, cartons, flip-flops, and cassava sticks. In this body of work, I aim to recreate some of those toy cars, reflecting the resourcefulness and imagination of our youth.
