This work explores the Yoruba concept of Ìdè meaning “Bond”, which refers to the binding nature of marriage. The central rope like binding symbolizes the union of two individuals, inseparable and tied together. The gradient of colors reflects both the beauty and tension that coexist in marital life. The deep red accents and perforations represent the hidden pains, struggles, and wounds that can exist within the bond, pain that cannot easily be separated, as divorce is not a simple solution in many cultural contexts. “Marriage is a bond”
