The inspiration behind “Two Good Heads” comes from a deep admiration for the power of collaboration, unity, and shared vision. Pelumi Ponmile was moved by the Yoruba proverb “Two good heads are better than one,” reflecting the truth that together we can achieve far more than alone. Using Aso Oke, a fabric steeped in culture and history, he sought to capture the elegance, strength, and resilience of African women, whose wisdom and partnership shape communities. Each fold, texture, and color tells a story of connection, cultural pride, and mutual support. This artwork is both a tribute and a reminder that greatness thrives in harmony and shared strength can illuminate the world.
