About the Artist

Full name: Obajuluwa Artist name: Obajuluwa Oluwasegun

Timothy Obajuluwa Oluwasegun, a Nigerian visual artist, brings African narratives to life through his distinctive impasto painting style. Born on January 6, 1998, in Sango-Ota, Ogun State, and with roots in Ondo State, Oluwasegun's art is deeply rooted in his connection to African culture.

His artistic path began with practical training at Prince Kenny Advert Company and Danes Art Company, where he gained foundational skills. This early experience paved the way for formal art education at Yaba College of Technology, where he earned both an OND and HND in Fine Art. During his studies, he interned under the mentorship of Dr. Bolaji Ogunwo, a prominent impasto artist, which significantly influenced his technique.

His work draws inspiration from African traditions, daily life, and his heritage. He meticulously researches his themes, sometimes using photographs of local scenes as references. Through his art, Oluwasegun celebrates the African experience, capturing the emotions and vibrant cultural identity of its people.
