About the Artist
Full name: Okiemute Kelvin ibrudhabor Artist name: Okiemute Kelvin ibrudhabor
I am Okiemute Kelvin Ibrudhabor, an Isoko-born artist and founder of EchoMind Culture. My work blends comic realism and impressionism, creating a balance between vibrant storytelling and emotional depth. Inspired by my Ozoro roots, I draw from the resilience of my people—especially the strength of Isoko women—whose dignity and endurance continue to shape my vision as an artist.
I create primarily with pastel, oil, and augmented reality (AR). Each medium serves a distinct purpose: pastel captures softness and intimacy, oil provides richness and depth, while AR transforms the canvas into an immersive, interactive experience. Alongside these, I also experiment with ball pen, acrylic, watercolor, yarn/thread, charcoal, and graphite, expanding the textures and voices within my practice.
My work explores cultural identity, resilience, and mental health, weaving memory with transformation. At the core of my journey is a simple mission: to remember the past, heal the present, and awaken new ways of seeing through art.
Artist statement: I am an Isoko-born artist blending comic realism and impressionism with pastel, oil, and AR. My work preserves culture, explores resilience and mental health, and seeks to remember the past, heal the present, and awaken new ways of seeing.
